It is safe to choose your own way
Loving the process is about applying love to what is most difficult
Welcome to Gentle Musings, a publication about reconnecting with yourself, experiencing life as a creative practice, and living out loud. Gentle Musings is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support this work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
It is safe to choose your own way.
It is safe to live a self-referenced life and turn toward your creative desires.
It is safe to trust your deepest visions.
It is safe to befriend your fear.
I just wish I knew earlier that who we each become in the process is the whole damn point.
I think about what Thich Nhat Hanh shared:
The way must be in you; the destination also must be in you and not somewhere else in space or time. If that kind of self-transformation is being realized in you, you will arrive.
When we turn toward our desires, every single vulnerability will rise to the surface to be loved. That’s the point! Loving the process is about applying love to what is most difficult.
Every time I feel a sense of fulfillment, it’s when I arrive so fully in the process, when I let myself love it exactly as it is.
If you have worked with me before, you’ve probably heard me say:
Trust that your vision will meet you in perfect timing.
And then give SO much love to the process.
It is safe to choose your own way, and you don’t have to do it alone.
If you too needed the reminder, consider giving this post a like or sending it to someone who might enjoy it… or both! It’s a small gesture that majorly encourages others to choose their own way while supporting me as I try to do the same! Thank you.
The next letter for paid subscribers builds off the last two, Morning Guesses and Morning Reconciliation. I’m writing about mornings for January because they used to be a major theme in my resolutions. This three part series offers personal stories, questions and practices that you can utilize and customize in your mornings, a poem, and (in the next letter) ideas that you can integrate/build off depending on what you most need and want in this season of your life. If you try any of these practices or ideas, let me know!
Take care,
Maggy
