Every day is an opportunity for me to discern between actionable ideas, ideas to table, and ways of creating systems that honor both my creative desires and my limited human capacity. If you find yourself in this dance, I’m on the floor with you! This very experience—and the creative longing, overwhelm, and devotion that are part of it—is a major inspiration for Regarding Dew’s signature course, Pivoting Toward Wholeness.
Well, I dropped the ball on ‘Resonant Resources’ lately. It was January and now it’s…. summer.
Wait, what are Resonant Resources?
Resonant resources are a place to feature what is sparkling for me in hopes that it does the same for you, too. They are a catch-all of ‘you've got to know about this!’, mostly in the form of media: books, quotes, articles, music, films, podcasts, recipes, etc. but also ideas, practices, rituals, animals, memes… this is a smorgasbord of delight and inspiration!
I hope that resonant resources are a silver lining of meaning and joy during times of uncertainty, difficulty, and noisy content.
Maybe you had this at school growing up, too: the treasure chest. Many of my teachers had a treasure test, tucked away in the day-to-day, filled with an assortment of goodies. Yeah, it was all dollar store junk. But at seven years old, the moment of the treasure chest opening was a moment of awe. Would I choose the globe key chain? The sticky hand to throw at the wall? An orange pencil sharpener? Maybe the kazoo?!
I want each Regarding Dew Letter of Resonant Resources to feel like that… only with quality. As I share things that are lighting up my mind and heart, I invite you to take a little time to do the same. We benefit from each other’s sharing.
So…. what things are in your tabs lately?! Let me know below!
In honor of the return of Resonant Resources after its unexpected hiatus, here is a video sharing some favorite things.
These are specifically products that help me take care of myself as someone who has a tendency to avoid taking it easy.
Each of the resonant resources mentioned in the video are linked in the video’s description box. And nope, I’m not an affiliate.
And yes, there is more! The first is a short video:
I’m not crying, you’re crying 🥹
Next up is an offering from the studio: there is a Community Discovery Writing Gathering this Saturday and next Saturday (first and last Saturday!).
Something wonderful has happened since starting these: people find it easier to show up with less preface and persona because they are not with people they know ‘in real life’, they are with people who are likewise showing up with all of the feelings, eagerness, doubt, and anticipation that comes with showing up for yourself in new ways.
We use writing as the path back to connection again and again: to yourself, to others, to the immediate environment of this one-time-ever moment, and to being alive at this period in time.
This is for you if one or more of these is true: You…
⦾ …have never written for yourself before
⦾ …are an ardent journal-keeper
⦾ …are looking to build your ‘creativity support system’ and participate in enriching community networks
⦾ …know that creativity is an ongoing source of comfort and stability in destabilizing and trying times
⦾ …are extremely nervous to read your writing out loud… but something is pulling at your sleeve to try
⦾ …are in need of a creative spark to jump-start or maintain your writing practice with more consistency
⦾ …are an artist looking to round out and enliven your art practice through integrating writing
⦾ …are yearning to translate floating ideas into tangible writing so that your mind is clear and inspired
⦾ …have a desire to connect to your innate creativity and to keep the connection alive
See you there?!
Registration closes at 9am EST this Saturday
Next Resonant Resource… you ready?
Ok this one is an idea that I am VERY into conceptually, and curious what it could look like in practice (potentially a ground for cross-disciplinary collaborations, potentially disastrous?!).
