Feeling extreme gratitude even in the extreme August heat in my studio

I’m currently in the swirl of some major shifts in how I want to share and show up for my creative work.

There’s a deeper desire for privacy emerging while at the same time, I’m feeling more compelled to share than ever before. A generative if not totally disorienting place to be…

This Gentle Musings is a window into my current swirly place of wondering, and it marks a shift in what you can expect from this space.

I’m a big believer in taking direction from your creative desires.

Sometimes, this inner directive emerges from such a deep place inside that it can feel distinct from what your current self wants.

In my own life and in my work with clients, I’ve seen how stubborn some creative desires are. We put them off, downplay their significance, come up with evidence of why it’s not worth it, why it’s not time, why we suck, and we move along our days with an unsettled yearning.

Sometimes, often, this inner directive starts directing before we feel ready.

Sometimes listening to the inner directive of your creative desire means changing your approach swiftly and without notice, whether that be a little pivot or major reroute.

Sometimes, the suffering from waiting and doubting and planning and mulling it over gives way to audacity and finally trusting imperfect action.
