It’s ok to keep trying until it sticks

For so long, I kept my desire of turning Gentle Musings into a podcast at arm's length. This happened through masterful procrastination, relentless perfectionism, and draft after draft after draft.

Finally, I just plugged my nose and jumped in.

And then I jumped back out.

that's part of the process

Then I jumped back in

And then: I ghosted it…again!

In the past, I would have blushed with embarrassment about even wanting to try again. I would struggle to forgive myself from dropping the ball.

Nowadays, I respect my resilience and willingness to try again, in public no less.

I choose to normalize that when it comes to answering a creative calling, it’s ok to keep trying until it sticks.

I see it every week with the people I work with in 1:1 creative support sessions: the boulder of creative resistance often matches the depth of a creative longing.

That’s how it is for me when it comes to showing up in video or on audio… so I dared myself to do both with this one. I'm here to show up imperfectly in tenderness and boldness—this is my curriculum.

If you feel regret and disappointment in yourself from abandoning projects or dreams…

If you’re burdened by a fear of failure that you can’t shake…

Especially after so many attempts to give time and attention to what you care about and what makes you feel most yourself…

Then I hope you give this episode a listen.

More to come,

🪷 Maggy

PS: If you relate to what I shared in this episode, I encourage you to check out Pivoting Toward Wholeness, a six-week course on the creative potential within everyday *or* 1:1 sessions—where we do a ton of unshaming and unshoulding of the creative process together.

If you listen/watch and enjoy, I’d love to hear from you! And please do share this with a friend who could really use the creative encouragement.
